MHW-3BOMBER Knight Impact Tamper
Available at 58.35 mm and in the colour Black, the MHW-3BOMBER Knight Impact Tamper is a constant-pressure tamper that utilizes four different springs to obtain ideal tamping results.
What Are the Four Springs For?
You might be scratching your head thinking, "does it really need FOUR springs?"
The role of each spring is different, and they all work together to create the mechanism that achieves the Knight Impact Tamper's tamp.
- The Impact Spring: like the name implies, the Impact Spring provides the force behind the tamp
- The Trigger Spring: maintains constant pressure
- The Horizontal Spring: properly aligns the tamper
- The Reset Spring: resets the tamper to its original position post-tamp
This is all to say: the tamper does benefit from each one of its springs!
As a constant-pressure tamper, the Knight Impact Tamper uses a consistent amount of weight every time it is put to use. Every time the tamper is pressed into place, it uses 30 lbs. of pressure to mold the coffee into the correct form. This technique takes the pressure away from the user to get the tamp just right, as the tamper itself provides the right pressure and form.
Audible cues from the tamper reveal when the tamping is done, a clicking sound to notify the users when to release their hold on the tool. Its horizontal guide ring also helps users to keep the tamper level with the portafilter.
MWH-3BOMBER Formula Smart Coffee Scale
The Formula Smart Coffee Scale is built with the user in mind. Available in both Black and White, this scale considers ergonomics by implementing an angled front display. On a more specific level, it also considers which kinds of coffee lovers will be using this device. Three different modes result in three sets of measuring characteristics, dependent on the kind of coffee you're making:
- Manual Mode: manual timing, real-time flow rate, weighing
- Espresso Mode: real-time flow rate, automatic timing, brew ratio display, solid-liquid detection
- Pour-Over Mode: automatic start/stop timer, real-time flow rate, solid-liquid detection
With all three modes, the Formula Smart Coffee Scale keeps some things consistent--weighing objects 50 g or more will immediately wake up the scale, and all measurements will be within 0.1 g of accuracy. Using Smart Mode Memory, the last-used settings on the scale will automatically be enabled, so that your typical settings won't have to be programmed every time.
