espresso martini with a JURA Z10 machine

Even though JURA machines give you as many menu options as possible, there are still possibilities outside of what's on the screen! One recipe that we've been using a lot during events has been the espresso martini. Leading up to the holiday season, the gingerbread espresso martini has also been a huge hit with guests! Here's how to do both a regular espresso martini and the special gingerbread espresso martini with a JURA machine--if you're more of a visual learner, you can watch our video on YouTube to watch this recipe in action.

What you'll need:

  • Any JURA machine
  • Coffee beans, we're using Chicco D'Oro

  • Liqueur, we're using Baileys but have used Kahlua as well
  • Ice
  • Shaker
  • Jigger
  • Sieve
  • Martini glass
  • Gingerbread syrup, we're using 1883 (optional)
Baileys liqueur
Gingerbread syrup from 1883

How to Make (Gingerbread) Espresso Martinis using JURA

Making these drinks using a JURA machine makes the process quicker and more efficient as the machines are superautomatic, without compromising quality and flavour.

  1. If you're making a gingerbread espresso martini, dispense one pump of gingerbread syrup into the shaker.
  2. Place your shaker underneath the coffee spout and click on the espresso option. We've found that this works best at full strength and at around 2.5 ounces.
  3. After the espresso has been dispensed, add around 2.5 ounces of vodka using your jigger.
  4. Follow this up by adding 1-1.5 ounces of liqueur.
  5. Next, you want to add your ice before shaking. We added around 150 g of ice.
  6. Shake, shake, shake! This should last 20-25 seconds.
  7. Dispense the espresso martini by opening the shaker, placing the sieve under the shaker and over the martini glass, and slowly pouring the martini out (as to not spill!)
  8. For decoration, add an espresso bean from the JURA machine's hopper to the top of the drink.
  9. Enjoy!
