Efficiency and flexibility
The Profitec DRIVE - Matte Black heats up both of its boilers (one for coffee and the other for steam) simultaneously, allowing for maximum efficiency. Of course, flexibility of settings for users is considered, with the ability to program automatic ON and OFF times. These options, as well as others, can be tracked on the machine's discreet display. The shot timer can also be viewed on this OLED screen.
Other customization options include individually setting the temperature for each boiler through PID control and either using a water tank or attaching the machine to a water line. Also, you have the choice to have the steam boiler on or off. Preinfusion, both active and passive, have multiple settings that can be changed to ensure the best extraction for each shot.
Consistency in brewing
In the Profitec DRIVE, Flow Control ensures stability in the flow of water to the brew group during brewing. It also has the ability to be changed during the brew process itself. With the DRIVE, there is a rotary pump, which adds another layer of consistency in the extraction of the shot.
