When the machine is in front of your eyes, you may think that there is not much that has changed. And if you think so, you are partly right. The E8 by JURA has been the brand's best seller globally for quite some time. What makes the E8 shine is its practicality, aesthetics, and price point. You are getting all of the best innovations and conveniences by JURA in the E8 without the price tag that we get with the Z10, J8 Twin, and J8 for all of their bells and whistles. So, JURA doesn't need to make many changes to the E8. Nevertheless, they have made some key improvements without striving off of the purpose that the E8 serves in their residential lineup.
The first change: Grinder update

- The new JURA E8 now comes with the latest grinder by JURA called the P.A.G. 2+ Grinder.
- "The perfect cup of coffee calls for the best ingredients, prepared in exactly the right way. The advanced P.A.G.2 grinder ensures that the beans are ground to perfection every time. The grinder setting can be easily adjusted with the ergonomically shaped selector switch. Between preparations, the grinder remains in rest mode. This is gentler on the grinder, maximizing its lifetime while ensuring consistently delectable flavor. The eighth-generation 3D brewing unit ensures ideal brewing conditions and maximum flavor. As a result, the E8 makes wonderfully flavorful coffee throughout its lifetime." - By JURA
"The P.A.G.2+ grinder is in a class of its own. It features sound design inspired by Formula 1 technology. The aroma control function actively monitors the grind consistency to ensure perfect results every time. Depending on the selected product, the machine will recommend setting the consistency to 'mild' or 'intense'. This controls the aroma in the cup. The grinding level can be adjusted at any time, but before and after preparation the P.A.G.2+ always goes into rest mode to maintain its performance throughout its lifetime. This means that your coffee machine will continue to provide the perfect flavor for even longer."

- We have tried comparing shots of Espresso between the old and new E8 and we can personally say that the espresso tastes better with the new machine. We noticed more body, allowing the finer notes of our premium beans to come out.
The second change: Operation

- The user-interface is now aided by some dots on the buttons which makes it easier to notify the customer that the screen is not a touchscreen.
- Larger display. A 3.5 inch high resolution screen now makes the unit look more elegant and easier to use.
- The layout is more efficient, as there is a button to customize your drinks with an additional shot of espresso for milk based-beverages or to activate the ground coffee bypass.

The third change: Lungo
- With the current gen E8, they have opted to remove the Caffè Barista option from the menu and added the Lungo.
- I like this change - the Caffè Barista was essentially a variation of the Americano, so the addition of the Lungo allows for more drink options.
- I have been drinking the Lungo from the JURA E8 everyday now and it's my new favourite drink!
In my eyes, the JURA E8 is once again the king of residential superautomatic machines. The JURA E8 is available in Black, White, and Chrome and as Quality Coffee Systems in Vancouver is the distributor, hospitality, and service centre for JURA in BC, we carry all 3 colors.
